The Tomb of Horrors: Ultimate Edition

After the failed attempt to run the Order through the Tomb of Horrors I decided to do something constructive with all the conversion material I had created. So I slapped together a PDF of the Tomb of Horrors converted to Pathfinder rules. Also included are rules for running it with Savage Worlds and PDQ.

You can download the PDF right here

  1. Thanks! That'll save me a LOT of conversion work. I want to run this classic module (Still holding my 1E copy of the original in my hands here) with my Pathfinder group.

  2. Awesome, let me know how it works out! My group unfortunately wussed out after the first handful of horrible deaths.

  3. Hi there - this looks awesome, thanks for sharing. Just wondering, what Pathfinder party level would you say this version is best for? Same as the original (9-10) or different?

    1. Thanks, As far as level goes I'd say with Pathfinder it's a pretty broad range. The Tomb is lethal, but it's not actually full of lots of combat encounters. A group of level 5 characters could beat it if they're clever...a group of level 15's could suffer a tpk. However, you probably want to stick to single digits (say 7-9), just because Pathfinder loads everyone up with lots of powers/hit points, which can make it unpredictable.

  4. Thanks! The Savage Worlds conversion notes are great. It's neat to play something familiar using different systems.

  6. Hey, I plan to run this pretty soon, just for a small break in between sessions when a few party members will be on vacation. I read through it, though, and I've got a question: On page 9 of your pdf, in the crypt of fear section, it says 'Once the characters enter the false crypt[...]'. What exact area does that refer to? is that the 2x2 area in 18B? or am I missing something

    1. You've got it right, the crypt is that 2x2 area marked 18B. The original text is a little muddied in this area so that's why it came out less than clear. The webs occur in the stairs that lead down to 18B.
